Ass Deep - Now with MOAR SHOVEL!

Postby bravebluemice » Mon Feb 08, 2010 3:50 am

Things have been quiet in all of the various nether-regions of the internet that I frequent. This place is no different.

I myself have found it difficult to find the time to donate my two cents to various threads of interesting discussion (the few that are left going on, that is), and one of the common recurring themes is being BUSY.

As I understand it, our Boss is "ass deep" in projects unknown, as are a lot of our current members. I myself am ass deep in life right now, trying to come to grips with everything that's going on.

Even the BBM empire is slipping. We finally gained the momentum we needed to get consistent issues placed, but life has that way of sticking its nose where it doesn't belong, and soon I'm over a month in on the new year and the Dismembur issue is still up. As proud as I was (still am) of that issue, I feel that it's quite past stale.

So tonight I embark on a quest to wade through my slushpile (amazingly deep considering our history), and get the foundations laid for the new issue of BBM.

Ahead FULL!

I'm back, and have shoveled some stuff away from my desk.

I'm going to move a few things around this weekend, and will staff up this joint so a contest or issue will not drop off because I'm busy.

Before I mess with anything, as always, I will backup the database. :bgeek:

Thanks for your patience, everyone.

I just dug through my slush editor's inbox. Forty emails and 32 submissions. Took me all damn night.

Unfortunately, the responses and the beginnings of the editing process are going to have to wait...

At least I've uncovered the "stash"...

I assume when I get to work, I'll be ass deep in vacuum cleaners. I think I'll bring the bigger hammer today.

This is great... we're both working on our sites, so we'll be getting up up the floor at roughly the same time.
I have made a new section of the forum for the magazine here, so watch that space.

I have made a complete list of contests for 2010, and will post an editorial calendar for article submissions tomorrow. First issue April 1st.

I will move this post and any of your replies to that section in a topic called 'Editorial Babbling' when I'm done. :mono:

Tonight I sit down with next month's feature review, and judging by the cover, it's one I'm ging to like.

I still don't have a desk for my computers, and just got Internet at the new place, and am typing this right now on my iWeasel on the leached wi-fi at work, but I've had a lot of time to read some great stuffs.

The Independence Issue will be the biggest yet!
