Yesterday Fatcow, our web hosting service for Often Inspired, had a complete power failure in their data center.
As a result, this site and hundreds of thousands of other sites went dark.
When power was restored, there were data integrity issues, some network gear didn't work, and they had to restore a lot of servers from backups.
The outage was roughly twenty hours long.
As site administrator, I apologize for this outage during NaNoWriMo.
I confidently point all my available fingers, plus a few I borrowed, at Fatcow.
They really pulled a cowflop this time.
Note: had the outage continued just two more hours, I was going to set up a replacement server (I DO have backups from yesterday) and email everyone where to go get their stuff.
